In the year 1400, the deputation of the general, the organ of government of the country from the XIV century to the XVII, acquired a property in the Jewish ward called “Call major” of Barcelona to install in it your definitive seat. The house had been property, successively, of a poet, a surgeon, a treasurer and a switchman and of your respective heirs. Practically nothing of the original edifications does not remain, on those which went raising to him a building right from the start of Gothic style, below the direction of the Marc Safont architect, one of the more grateful thing in that moment in Catalonia.
