In front of this door it is located the statue of Velázquez, work of the sculptor Aniceto Marinas. The pedestal is of Vicente Lampérez. It has a dedicatory: The Spanish artists, for initiative of the circle of fine artses, 1899. This monument inaugurated to him the day June 14 of that same year with the presence of the governing queen and of Alfonso XIII.
