I surround with a wall west of the Cordoba mosque

The more splendid construction of cordoba, the great mosque, was ordered for the amir " Abd -Rahmaán I ar in the year 785 , after having chosen cordoba as capital of the caliphate. It is built in the terrain of the church of saint Vincent, whose foundations were discovered when making excavations in the inside of the mosque in the decade of 1930. Towards the 785 started the construction of the mosque, whose situation in the proximities of the Guadalquivir, at the end of the ancient bridge ( today restored ) not only took advantage of the nets of already existent communications, but that gave testimony of the respect for the Visigoth heritage of the city.
